We are so excited to celebrate Reynolda Veterinary Hospital’s achievement of Gold-Level Compassion Satisfaction Accreditation! This is a significant step up from their previous Silver status and a true testament to the intentional culture work their team has poured into the past year! Congratulations Reynolda Veterinary Hospital team!!
What is the CSAW Program, and Why Does It Matter?
The Compassion Satisfaction Accredited Workplace (CSAW) Program is the first and only veterinary accreditation focused entirely on the people behind the practice: workplace culture, leadership, and the mental and emotional well-being of veterinary teams.
For Practice Manager Maggie Holcomb, the program’s purpose aligns directly with Reynolda Veterinary Hospital’s values:
“Our people are our greatest asset, and creating a healthy, supportive environment directly impacts patient care, client experience, and team retention. Pursuing CSAW felt very aligned with who we are as a hospital.”
Honest Feedback Led to Real Change
Renewing under the enhanced CSAW standards meant taking a closer look at what was actually happening within their culture. Their 2025 employee satisfaction survey surfaced real concerns around communication, trust in leadership, and role clarity, and leadership leaned in rather than looking away.
They shared results transparently with the team, held follow-up meetings, and connected one-on-one with staff. What they found surprised them.
“Leadership often interpreted the survey results to mean one thing,” Maggie shared, “but after having open conversations with staff, we found out those concerns meant very different things to different people. We would not have uncovered that without those meetings and honest communication.”
From there, the team focused on increasing leadership visibility, clarifying expectations through SOPs, and launching a mentorship program pairing new hires with a mentor during onboarding.
The Results Speak for Themselves
By 2026, the tone of their employee feedback had completely shifted, moving from themes of burnout and frustration to feeling supported, appreciated, and encouraged. Their satisfaction rate jumped from 71% to 100% of survey respondents reporting they were satisfied or very satisfied working at Reynolda Veterinary Hospital.
As Maggie put it:
“When people feel valued and supported, it shows in everything they do.”
Congratulations to Maggie and the entire Reynolda Veterinary Hospital team. This Gold accreditation is so well earned!
