Living out our values through you
At Encore Vet Group, our values are centered around our people. We invest in our practice teams through professional development, competitive benefits, and a supportive community that allow you to thrive in both your job and personal life. When you become a part of Encore, you not only enjoy the resources we offer; you benefit from the collective knowledge of our partner hospitals who are all committed to improving the veterinary profession — and helping you succeed.
Live your best life with Encore
We know you have a life outside of work (so do we!) so we want to provide you with great benefits and perks to help you live a balanced, healthy life.
Besides the basics, we offer:
- Paid family leave
- DVM student debt repayment assistance
- Gym membership reimbursements and discounts
- Discounts for groceries, movie/concert/sports tickets, and many local businesses
- And so much more!
We also have a great assistance program that includes mentorship in personal finances, work-life balance, home buying, student debt, retirement planning, mental health, nutrition and weight loss, and more. You’re important to us, you’re family, and we want to give you the resources to be your best self.
We connect you with
other practice leaders
We continually encourage practices to connect and share knowledge and resources with each other through:
- Multiple education opportunities
- Leadership video calls
- Our instant messaging forum
- Even just regular old phone calls and visits!
Through our many connection channels, practice team members form close bonds with one another. They go on to hold one another accountable for personal growth and performance. They share tools & information, and collaborate to problem-solve for one another. The Encore family continues to grow with each training hosted and each hospital that we partner with. Own it, share it, and lift it becomes second nature to every leader — and in Encore, everyone is a leader.
A story from our practices:
One of our doctors in Rutland, VT was interested in learning more about TPLO surgery and staff efficiency. We were able to pair him up with Dr. Thompson in Ohio who we know lives and breathes TPLO’s and has a very efficient (and fun!) team.
We create meaningful work together
When we empower you to use your talents and skills to the fullest — and do what you love! — the whole company excels. Many leaders in our hospitals have passions for certain elements of veterinary care or practice management such as inventory, customer service, exotics, or specific surgeries. We connect these passionate experts with other hospital leaders who need help in their area of expertise. Doing so helps to improve the efficiency in your hospital so you can focus more time on doing what you love.
So, speak up and let us know what you’re passionate about. We’ll help make your time at work meaningful.
A story from our practices:
Holly Daugherty, a Practice Manager from Virginia Beach, loves inventory. She spoke up about her passion and ended up helping us create an Inventory Management course. Holly went on to also help teach the training, and now there’s a chat group full of inventory managers bouncing ideas and their own best practices off of each other.
We value our people
At Encore, we value each member of our family and care about their careers and personal lives. And it’s important to us that anyone joining our family shares our values too. We put our people first every day by showing respect, learning, and growing together in an inclusive environment where everyone is valued.
At Encore Vet Group we are committed to a continuous diversity and inclusion journey. We embrace and support our veterinary community where you can see yourself, be yourself, and grow to become your best self.
We celebrate our wins
The accomplishments we achieve together are a big deal, which is why we take the time to celebrate them! We host frequent social events that run the gamut from bowling nights to 80’s parties to heading out on the town with the team. We want to work with the best and the brightest who are always pushing for another win (baking skills are a huge plus, too)!
We believe in
giving back locally
Strong communities are better places to live and work. We support our practices’ local communities through participation in local fundraisers and community events. Whether it’s helping a local shelter with spays and neuters or visiting a local school to teach kids about pet safety, we have a blast staying in touch and giving back to our communities.
