Celebrating Women Leading the Way in Veterinary Medicine

By Joanne Graham, CVPM SHRM-CP, Education and Training Manager

This past week we celebrated International Women’s Day, as part of Women’s History Month. I have been fortunate in my career to be inspired and mentored by many women who have each made their unique impact on veterinary medicine. Leaders are always learning. Now, I feel proud to continue that legacy through the education and training of leaders across this great organization!

At Encore, we believe in a more gender-inclusive workspace. Our senior leadership team has intentionally focused on championing women in leadership roles and closing the gender disparity. Developing and elevating diverse leadership has positive effects on business and society. As we continue to grow our community of practices, we can tap into the potential of practice leaders through coaching and mentorship, social learning, and community lift. We value our ability to share our diverse perspectives and experiences. We celebrate the women who live and act out these values every day. Recently, we got to celebrate as Heather Prendergast, Encore’s Director of Operations, as she was elected as Vice President on the Viticus Group 2022 Board of Directors. You can read more about Heather’s journey and continued dedication to leadership here.

At our core, we believe in continuous leadership development regardless of role or title. It is well known that leadership development drives engagement and great leaders attract great people. Our team at Encore Performance Academy is focused on ensuring that we have learning opportunities available to our employees that can meet them where they are on their development journey.
