Director of University Relations
Dr. Tim Loonam graduated from the University of Georgia where he attended veterinary school on a U.S. Army Veterinary Corps scholarship after serving as a regular Army officer and Airborne Ranger with the Infantry in the Pacific Rim. His first assignment with the Veterinary Corps brought Dr. Loonam, his wife, and two children to FT. Jackson, in Columbia, SC. He later earned the Bronze Star Medal during a 13-month tour of duty in Iraq where he cared for military working dog teams and performed nation-rebuilding and public health missions.
After separating from the Army, Dr. Loonam designed and built Grace Animal Hospital in Lexington, SC, which went on to become a 5-DVM, award-winning, AAHA-accredited mixed-animal practice with his wife, Betsy, as the practice manager. Dr. Loonam is a popular speaker at veterinary schools and veterinary meetings where he lectures on practice management, veterinary leadership, and clinical topics. He has expanded this role as the Director of University Relations for Encore and works closely with the Veterinary Business Management Association at veterinary colleges around the country.
Tim enjoys woodworking, traveling with Betsy to visit their grown children, working in his yard, and is an insanely obsessed fly fisherman.
