From July 21-27, we celebrated the amazing contributions of our veterinary assistants who are such an important puzzle piece within our practices. Their dedication, compassion, and hard work ensure patients within their communities receive the best care possible. Here are some of the incredible stories from our teams across the country:
Day 1: Pet Care Veterinary Hospital – Virginia Beach, VA
We kicked off the week by shining a spotlight on a few of the awesome Veterinary Assistant team members at Pet Care Veterinary Hospital!
Sara, the Veterinary Assistant Lead, loves client education and uses her extroverted nature to connect and communicate with clients daily.
Emma excels in client education and uses her famous dance moves to bring the Fear Free approach to the forefront, distracting patients with ease.
Josh is dedicated to learning, especially in surgery, and loves caring for a variety of animals, from tiny hamsters to majestic macaws.
Nate has a background in shelter medicine and a love for surgery, enhancing the team’s expertise with his daily learning opportunities.
Day 2: Mint Hill Animal Hospital – Mint Hill, NC
We highlighted Trish and the incredible veterinary assistant team at Mint Hill Animal Hospital!
Trish, with nearly 8 years at Mint Hill, recently transformed the hospital’s look with a beautiful landscaping project, working tirelessly even on the hottest day of the year. Her dedication and enthusiasm truly made Mint Hill a new kind of beautiful.
Ali, the practice manager, perfectly captures her Veterinary Assistant team’s essence: “My outstanding team evokes qualities that include empathy, selflessness, resilience, and ferocity. They’re delivering a homemade loaf of banana bread one second and covered in feces the next, and somewhere in between, they’re throwing their arms around Mrs. Jones for 30+ minutes as she expresses her final goodbye to Fluffy, her 17-year-old companion and friend.”
Day 3: Grace Animal Hospital – Lexington, SC
We’re proud to feature the outstanding Veterinary Assistant team at Grace Animal Hospital, with a special shout-out to Courtney!
Candace, the practice manager, notes, “Courtney is always there to remind us to see the good in the world.” Her ability to maintain a fun workplace and keep a smile on everyone’s face, even during the most difficult days, makes her a special part of the team. With Veterinary Assistants like Courtney, the future of veterinary medicine is incredibly bright!
Day 4: Harbor Point Animal Hospital – Mooresville, NC
We are also highlighting the awesome Veterinary Assistant team at Harbor Point Animal Hospital! Pictured here are just 3 of their 11 amazing Veterinary Assistants who work tirelessly to provide the best care for their patients.
A special shout-out goes to Cadence, who has been with Harbor Point for over 2 years. Starting as a high school student shadow, she quickly became an essential part of the team. Through dedication and hard work, she earned an apprenticeship for Veterinary Technology with Harbor Point, recently passed her Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE), and is now preparing for her state boards to become their homegrown Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)! Diane, their practice manager, says, “Just add some water to some of these team members and watch them grow! I am so proud of her.”
Day 5: Animal Care of Greenville – Greenville, NC
The practice manager at Animal Care of Greenville shared some highlights about their veterinary assistants:
Ashly is the main assistant in surgery, always moving and smiling with a can-do attitude!
Adrianne transitioned from a kennel attendant to a veterinary assistant, bringing laughter and a positive mood to the team!
Alex excels at running appointments, working hard, being thorough with clients, and getting things done efficiently!
