VP of Human Resources

Melissa Mauldin serves as Vice President of Human Resources at Encore, bringing more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience guiding organizations through growth, organizational change, and workforce development. She holds the SHRM-SCP credential, is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC), is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), and holds a Master’s degree in Leadership and Organizational Development.

Throughout her career, Melissa has partnered with executive teams to design and implement scalable people programs across talent acquisition, performance management, leadership development, compensation strategy, and employee engagement. Her work focuses on building the systems, structure, and cultural foundations that enable teams to perform at a high level during periods of expansion and change.

At Encore, Melissa leads the development and execution of the company’s talent strategy, ensuring workforce planning, leadership capability, and employee experience initiatives align with business objectives. She works closely with leaders across the organization to strengthen accountability, support practice teams, and build a culture that balances operational excellence with people-centered leadership.

Her approach blends strategic HR expertise with practical, data-informed implementation, supporting sustainable growth while fostering an engaged and resilient workforce.

Did you know?

Before joining veterinary medicine, Melissa had a short stint as a pastry chef. She trained under a classically trained French pastry chef, and worked at a small luxury hotel that hosted celebrities on a regular basis.
