This year, we celebrated our 2nd Veterinarian’s Week!

Across our practices, we took the time to honor the incredible people who care for animals, support their teams, mentor students, and lead with compassion. From heartfelt shoutouts to a fun scavenger hunt, the week was packed with gratitude, connection, and inspiration.

A Celebration of Every Encore Veterinarian

To each and every veterinarian across Encore’s hospitals: thank you. Thank you for the compassion you show every patient and client. Thank you for mentoring your teams, growing your practices, and continuing to learn and lead. Thank you for facing the challenges of this profession with resilience, empathy, and heart.

Spotlight on Dr. Emily Roach: Compassionate Leader, Visionary Thinker

We celebrated Dr. Emily Roach, Medical Director at Northfield Veterinary Hospital for exemplifying what it means to be a forward-thinking veterinary leader. With a major relocation on the horizon, she’s remained focused on empowering her team, streamlining processes, and prioritizing the client experience. Beyond the clinic, she’s nurturing her personal growth through book club discussions and reflective learning. Dr. Roach, we’re inspired by your vision and drive!

Leading By Example With Compassion

We highlighted two phenomenal leaders, Dr. Stephany Spano from Harbor Point Animal Hospital and Dr. Janin Post, from Reynolda Veterinary Hospital, who lead with authenticity and care.

Dr. Spano shared her thoughtful approach to staying present, managing work-life boundaries, and supporting her team. She brings joy to the workplace by sharing funny stories, celebrating the cute patients, and finding small moments of connection. “Being kind to the people around you is so important,” she says—and we couldn’t agree more.

Dr. Post’s steady leadership is a source of strength for her team. Her practice manager described her as “a brilliant medical director whose passion for animals is only matched by her compassion for people.” Dr. Post, thank you for lifting others up and leading with heart.

Mentorship in Action: Dr. Cordero at Grace Animal Hospital

Veterinarian’s Week also gave us the perfect chance to celebrate Dr. Cordero from Sharon Center Veterinary Hospital and the amazing team at Grace Animal Hospital for their dedication to mentorship and hands-on learning. During a recent visit, Dr. Cordero collaborated with Dr. Haley Hunt and Dr. Tim Loonam on a wide variety of surgical cases, while also teaching extern Jesse Lord (Tuskegee University) and supporting pre-vet student Ben Stickney.

As Dr. Loonam put it best: “See one, do one, teach one, right?!” The teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing on display was nothing short of inspiring.

Vets on the Hunt: Our Scavenger Challenge!

To add some fun to the week, we held a Veterinarian Scavenger Hunt, with amazing submissions from across the Encore community! From photos in lab coats to flashback stories and heartfelt reasons for entering the field, our vets brought the joy.

Some of our favorite shares:

  • Dr. Lukas became a vet to support the beautiful bond between pets and their humans!

  • Dr. Patton was inspired by a love of marine mammals, which led to a degree in marine science…and then, to veterinary medicine!

  • Dr. Wade was inspired for her love of horses!

We loved seeing your faces, reading your stories, and celebrating the journey that brought each of you into this meaningful profession.

Thank you again to all veterinarian’s, for everything you do each and every day. You deserve to be celebrated all year long!
