Dawn Hackney is an accomplished finance executive with over 20 years of experience driving strategic financial initiatives within the healthcare sector. She brings a strong track record of leadership in both private equity-backed and enterprise-level organizations, where she has successfully led complex mergers and acquisitions, built high-performing finance teams, and developed scalable financial systems to support sustained growth.

Before joining Encore, Dawn held several chief and senior leadership roles, where she played a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing the revenue cycle, and delivering measurable value creation. Her broad expertise includes accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investor relations, and financial strategy — all underpinned by a deep understanding of the unique financial dynamics in healthcare.

Dawn is known for her collaborative, transparent leadership style that promotes cross-functional alignment and data-driven decision-making. She is particularly passionate about advancing veterinary healthcare and is dedicated to supporting Encore’s mission of innovation, excellence, and long-term impact.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and is currently furthering her leadership education through Harvard University’s leadership program. Dawn also remains actively involved in healthcare industry initiatives focused on financial sustainability and leadership development.

Outside of work, Dawn values time with her family and is a proud pet parent to Ollie and Maggie. Ollie is a golden retriever in training to become an emotional support companion for hospitalized terminally ill patients — a cause close to her heart.
